Something else which was needed when I got the new lens was a new camera bag, since the old one simply couldn’t fit it, now matter which angle I tried. My choice landed on the LowePro Flipside 400 AW, which is a backpack, which opens on the ”back”, which lets you use the waist-belt as a holder, so when you need to get your camera out, flip off the shoulder-straps, spin the bag around and open the bag.
The weight of the camera and lenses will make the bag tilt down a bit, giving you easy access to the things inside without having to use a hand to hold the bag or the lid. Very handy! The bag is advertized as fitting a 300mm F2.8, but that I don’t really believe. My 70-200 f2.8 has to be squeezed in quite a bit, and required a little rearrangement of the internal walls.
I’ve tried out the bag once on a forest trek, and it worked like a charm! I can’t really find anything about it which bugs me, so I’m giving it a thumbs up!
